Haiti has been viciously battered by hurricanes this summer. The scale of the humanitarian emergency can be seen on videos from the BBC.
The relief agency CARE says : "The almost total deforestation of Haiti puts the country at extreme risk of flooding from even moderate tropical storms"
Scientists are again saying that warmer waters are the driving force behind the stronger hurricanes. Average speeds have increased from 139mph in the 80's to 157 mph in 2006.
